Nike is one of the major leading brands in golf and big name players are signed with them. The SasQuatch Sumo driver has been used by Trevor Immelman, Anthony Kim, Justin Leonard, Grace Park and Suzann Pettersen. The driver had over 29 wins on the PGA tour in 2007. Nike have had more wins than any other brand in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

The original Sasquatch driver has won numerous awards. When the  Nike engineers set out to create an improvement on their clubs they had a difficult mission on their hands. However they proved that the mission was accomplished with the SasQuatch Sumo. The driver is the latest technology which boasts a new Nike PowerBow geometry for even more distance and forgiveness. The PowerBow configuration adds weight to the bottom perimeter of the driver while moving the centre of gravity lower and further back. This gives a SUper MOment of inertia hence the Sumo name. Another dramatic improvement is the shaft by Mitsubishi Rayon which is now high performance Diamana. The graphite shaft is designed to blend power and stability, with a light weight feel and an optimized tip profile for better distance and accuracy. This is the latest in golf club design!

The Nike Sumo driver golf club offers many advantages over other brands. It uses the highest MOI by utilising a multimaterial construction and new PowerBow design which delivers superior forgiveness and greater distance.  The PowerBow design has a radical square design increasing the MOI for superior forgiveness and greater distance. The golf club has a full titanium construction and Diamana graphite shaft. The Sports PLC have purchased the driver in Men’s right hand in 9.5º stiff and 10.5º regular so there is a SasQuatch Sumo driver to suit most players.

A Californian agency has been appointed by Adidas Golf to manage and execute all creative planning and implementation for its Adidas Golf range of apparel and eyewear. The agency which was established some 7 years ago also manages TaylorMade-Adidas Golf worldwide, Maxfli Golf and Rossa golf putters. Other accounts include the Duramed Futures Tour, the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Two PGA players who are prominent in the world of golf have signed sponsorship contracts this year for a 5-year deal with Thomson Corporation, an information solutions provider. Mike Weir will be endorsed with Thomson logo on his personalised golf cap – no further details were provided; whilst Masters winner Zach Jonson has prolonged his sponsorship deal with golf apparel manufacturer Dunning Golf. Johnson will wear Dunning Golf branded golf clothes throughout all on-course tournaments, in all advertising and marketing activity – and participating in the development of the golf brands apparel system.

The PGA raised over $115m for charitable causes in 2007 – the most ever in the Tour’s long history. The amount is relative to all three PGA organisations, the PGA Tour, Nationwide Tour and Champions Tour. In what appeared to be a record year for charity donations from Golf organisations – the EDS Byron Nelson Championship beat the $99million goal post of all time donations to charity. The Valero Texas Open was the first golfing event in history to raise over $8-million in less than one year. Almost passing the $8-million mark – The FBR Open reported a donation of $7.8-million to good causes.

Adams Golf has recently announced the addition of two high profile PGA names to its line-up, in less than two weeks before contracting Tommy Gainey and Brad Elder – the golf equipment manufacturer has signed Sabbatini, Rory and Baddeley, Aaron.

A former Nike golf player and four times PGA Tour winner, ranked an amazing 11th in the world – has agreed to wear a branded golf cap and staff golf bag whilst using Idea golf irons, Idea Pro hybrid golf clubs junior golf clubs and an Insight golf driver. Having finished in sixth position on golf’s big earner’s list in 2007 after finding himself in the top 10 finishes at the FedEx cup events, and winning the Crowne Plaza Invitational.

Four times Tour winner and world ranking 18th golfer in the world, Baddeley was recently released from a signing with MacGregor last Autumn. Baddeley will sport an Adams golf cap and carry a tour golf bag, whilst using Insight 3 and 5-woods – additional Adams clubs will be introduced to his arsenal of junior left handed golf clubs throughout 2008 – Adams will contemplate adding its blade golf irons to its produce portfolio to align its corporate image with that of its latest signings and to inspire consumer confidence in the brand. Adams as a brand of golf equipment has been perceived as a junior / novice golfer’s brand, and not that of a brand for golfers.

Adams Golf has reportedly had talks with over 6 high profile PGA tour players before it closed deals with Rory Sabbatini and Aaron Baddeley – there is no immediate plan to further increase its pool of highly skilled player’s.

How To Swing The Golf Club On Plane Correctly

Click HERE to Shop Professional Golf Equipment at Discounted Price Now

Swinging on plane is a big key to hitting solid golf shots.  The first thing that needs to be correct is your setup.  A good setup position with a correct grip, good angles, and proper alignment will all aid you in swinging on plane correctly.

Starting your backswing on plane requires a slow smooth takeaway with the arms and shoulders.  At the point where the golf club is parallel to the ground in the beginning of your backswing, the golf club should cover up your hands if you were looking in a mirror or someone was standing behind you this is what you would see.  If the clubhead is too far in front of your hands, it is too far outside the plane line.  If the clubhead is too far behind your hands, the club will be inside too much.  Both of these incorrect positions will cause problems with keeping the club on the correct swing plane during the rest of your swing.

Halfway into the backswing, your hands should be set in the middle of your chest.  Also, from this halfway back position, if you drew a straight line down from your left elbow (for the right handed golfer), it should point right at the golf ball.  If your left elbow is pointing more towards your feet, your swing plane is too steep.  If your elbow is pointing too far out away from the ball, your swing plane is going to be too laid off or flat.  This is a great drill you can use to make sure you are starting your backswing on plane correctly.

The Golf Swing Genius is dedicated to improving your golf swing. For more detailed information on how to build and maintain a great swing, check out www.thegolfswinggenius.com.

Customize the Way you Play With Customized Golf Clubs

Click HERE to Shop Professional Golf Equipment at Discounted Price Now

Golf clubs greatly affect the way you play the game. If you want to make sure that you would be making that killer shot, customized golf clubs might be just what you need. Golf club customization would include fitting your clubs in three different lies, which would be standard, upright and flat to improve your game. Having golf clubs that are custom-made also lets you select the materials and the grip and also help you in setting your driving range so that you would be getting the most out of your clubs.

You would also be able to select the materials for the club heads and the shafts. This would give you the ability to choose the flexibility you need for your drive and your swing. However, it is important that you consider some things when you have your golf clubs customized. These would be if you play with your left or right hand, if you wear shoes that have flat soles, if you have your arms on your sides, what the distance between the floor and your wrist is, what the size of your gloves is and what your present handicap on an 18-hole green is.

Other questions that they would ask before customizing your clubs would be your accuracy, your driving distance, chipping and putting techniques and your recovery and ball hitting. Additionally, you would need to know how far your ball goes with your 5 iron; if you do any of these more often than the others: hook, straight, draw, fade, slice; what the make and flexibility of your current driver and shaft are; and the type of golf ball you are using.
