Hey, my father just gave me two sets of golf clubs. I play sometimes and I wanted to keep the BETTER set for myself. They are both relatively new, one is still almost brand new. The first is a full set of TaylorMade R7 Tour Preferred Irons. It is a full set with Dynamic Gold Shafts and Golf Pride grips. The second is a TaylorMade R7 DRAW Full set with Taylormade Flex R T Step 90 Shafts and TaylorMade grips. Which set is worth more and is the better highest end set? One comes in a Taylormade bag and the other in an Osiro bag. Both sets are like brand new. I am looking to keep the nicest most expensive one and sell the other at our garage sale. I can play with either set so I am not looking for a whatever fits me best answer, I simply just want to keep the best and most expensive. The graphite shaft is designed to blend power and stability, with a light weight feel and an optimized tip profile for better distance and accuracy. This is the latest in golf club design!

The Nike Sumo driver golf club offers many advantages over other brands. It uses the highest MOI by utilising a multimaterial construction and new PowerBow design which delivers superior forgiveness and greater distance.  The PowerBow design has a radical square design increasing the MOI for superior forgiveness and greater distance. The golf club has a full titanium construction and Diamana graphite shaft. There are a huge myriad of golf stand bags on the market, so knowing where to start looking could be difficult. What are the most popular stand bags on offer at the moment? For many people a stand bag is vital. They want to walk the course rather than use a golf cart, so having a light weight, practical and durable stand is pretty vital to really enjoy the game in full.  There are many leading manufacturers out there and they have a wide range of golf stand bags on offer.

Golf stand bags tend to fall into three categories; those that are very light in weight, the ‘ultra light’ class, and the ‘cross over bags’ which are designed to be an all round bag, allowing you to stand it when needed but use it in the cart when you have decided to use a cart. Prices do vary but you can get some cracking gold stand bags for just over $100, and if you look in the sales there will be some excellent deals that may take it below that figure.

Looking today for example, we could have purchased the Mizuno RenegadeTM for just under $100. This is a simply brilliant example of an entry level bag, suitable for the new golfer yet featuring all the things you would expect to find, and does include the all important rain cover, meaning that you won’t get water in the bag or risk damaging your kit.  

Nike go one better and offer a full price bag at $80, which currently can be purchased in the sale for $20 less – a cracking bargain from a well know sports company, so you instantly know that you are going to be looking at a quality bag here. There are no color options. This one is blue but it looks stylish and we would be more than happy to be seen on the course with it.

For the more serious level golfer we have to say that the Ogio Golf Nexos stand bag is impressive. It is at the top end of the range so will set you back over $250, but that said it really does look good. The muted softer colors seem to give it a more professional edge. It is one classy looking bag and again the features are all there. We couldn’t find any issues with this one.

Do you play golf? If I was a betting man I would hazard a guess that you do or why would you be reading this? Furthermore I would also bet that you buy new golf clubs from time to time, and I guess you talk to your buddies, visit a couple of stores and then lay out your money for the club that takes your fancy. I would ask why?

I play golf, a lot of golf. I am not a professional golfer and I don’t think I would want to be, I don’t like flying for one! What I am is an ordinary guy with a passion for the game of golf and to further break it down a passion for the short game. For instance, did you know that the majority of golf shots are played from 120 yards? One hundred and twenty yards, that’s it. You play the most golf from that distance and yet I would wonder, what importance do you place on your wedge play?

The golf wedges are the scoring clubs, from 120 yards you are using a pitching wedge, from 100 yards you are using a gap wedge and so on. These clubs are firing your ball into the green where you make your putt. If you can pepper the green with balls two feet away from the pin will you be making more putts? more birdies? I think so. So why then does nearly every golfer rush out and buy the latest driver?

Like I said earlier I play a lot of golf, purely because I like it. I use four wedges in my game from a pitching wedge down to a lob wedge. I have used wedges from Titleist, Callaway, Ping and Wilson to name but a few. I am not made of money but I like to try every club I can lay my hands on and without my computer I would have to forego a lot of pleasure.

I buy all my clubs which as I say, are mostly wedges, onine. I haven’t bought a new wood or driver for several years, and my game hasn’t suffered. All these wedges come from auction sites, one in particular, no names, no pack drill and it is this simple fact that allows me to test out virtually any club that I want to and for very little money overall.

The great thing about buying my clubs online is that prices are fairly stable so if I get a club and can’t get it to work for me I’ll sell it to a buddy, one of the guys or girls at my golf club or simply list it in an online auction and sell it there. Golfers are a great community and always looking for a club of some kind so when I sell I sometimes make a little profit. Every ones a winner!

A Californian agency has been appointed by Adidas Golf to manage and execute all creative planning and implementation for its Adidas Golf range of apparel and eyewear. The agency which was established some 7 years ago also manages TaylorMade-Adidas Golf worldwide, Maxfli Golf and Rossa golf putters. Other accounts include the Duramed Futures Tour, the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Two PGA players who are prominent in the world of golf have signed sponsorship contracts this year for a 5-year deal with Thomson Corporation, an information solutions provider. Mike Weir will be endorsed with Thomson logo on his personalised golf cap – no further details were provided; whilst Masters winner Zach Jonson has prolonged his sponsorship deal with golf apparel manufacturer Dunning Golf. Johnson will wear Dunning Golf branded golf clothes throughout all on-course tournaments, in all advertising and marketing activity – and participating in the development of the golf brands apparel system.

The PGA raised over $115m for charitable causes in 2007 – the most ever in the Tour’s long history. The amount is relative to all three PGA organisations, the PGA Tour, Nationwide Tour and Champions Tour. In what appeared to be a record year for charity donations from Golf organisations – the EDS Byron Nelson Championship beat the $99million goal post of all time donations to charity. The Valero Texas Open was the first golfing event in history to raise over $8-million in less than one year. Almost passing the $8-million mark – The FBR Open reported a donation of $7.8-million to good causes.

Adams Golf has recently announced the addition of two high profile PGA names to its line-up, in less than two weeks before contracting Tommy Gainey and Brad Elder – the golf equipment manufacturer has signed Sabbatini, Rory and Baddeley, Aaron.

A former Nike golf player and four times PGA Tour winner, ranked an amazing 11th in the world – has agreed to wear a branded golf cap and staff golf bag whilst using Idea golf irons, Idea Pro hybrid golf clubs junior golf clubs and an Insight golf driver. Having finished in sixth position on golf’s big earner’s list in 2007 after finding himself in the top 10 finishes at the FedEx cup events, and winning the Crowne Plaza Invitational.

Four times Tour winner and world ranking 18th golfer in the world, Baddeley was recently released from a signing with MacGregor last Autumn. Baddeley will sport an Adams golf cap and carry a tour golf bag, whilst using Insight 3 and 5-woods – additional Adams clubs will be introduced to his arsenal of junior left handed golf clubs throughout 2008 – Adams will contemplate adding its blade golf irons to its produce portfolio to align its corporate image with that of its latest signings and to inspire consumer confidence in the brand. Adams as a brand of golf equipment has been perceived as a junior / novice golfer’s brand, and not that of a brand for golfers.

Adams Golf has reportedly had talks with over 6 high profile PGA tour players before it closed deals with Rory Sabbatini and Aaron Baddeley – there is no immediate plan to further increase its pool of highly skilled player’s.
